Lillie Brown lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. She lost both her son and her husband to violence. Last year she was diagnosed with breast cancer and forced to quit her job (she is currently in remission). As a result, she could not afford to attend the Compassionate Friends National Conference this year. That is where the Sydney Mae Taylor Foundation, Inc. came in. The foundation paid for her airfare, her hotel stay and her conference registration fees. Lillie was so appreciative of the chance to attend the conference. She said she participated in numerous workshops that were very helpful for her and feels blessed that we were able to help her. We hope that Lillie found the healing and the help that she needed by attending the conference this year and it was our pleasure to help her.
